I am looking forward to seeing The Hobbit in the coming weeks. It will be interesting to see if Peter Jackson uses the 3D as effectively as James Cameron did in Avatar. Most of the 3D movies I’ve seen grab you for  a couple of moments with some early 3D effects and then let slide. You end up wondering whether most of the rest of the film had any 3D in it at all.

I’m hoping the Hobbit will be a visual feast, but also that Peter Jackson uses his storytelling skills to give us a well rounded piece of cinema like he did in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I’m hoping for scenes like my paintings below (Plenitude) and some quirky characters.

If The Hobbit is anything like all his other films it should be great.

I don’t know if I’ll be dressing up for the night though (some of my friends are considering it). I probably look a bit like a hobbit anyway, so I don’t really see the point.
